Friday Evenings

Kabbalat Shabbat

Nothing puts the pressures of the work week in the rear-view mirror – and ushers in the Sabbath like the queen she is – more warmly and beautifully than a song-filled, soulful Kabbalat Shabbat at Shomrei Emunah.

Services begin most Fridays at about 6:30 p.m. and last around an hour. Check the calendar for up-to-date start time.

Taste of Shabbat

A signature event at Shomrei, our not-quite-monthly Taste of Shabbat dinners combine the best of Kabbalat Shabbat with a delicious potluck dairy and vegetarian supper at the home of a different congregant each time around (though hosts may also elect to hold the event at Shomrei to spare their gleaming hardwoods).

It’s a fantastic, cross-generational, family-friendly and singles-friendly opportunity to schmooze with friends, meet new members of the synagogue, welcome the Sabbath and enjoy a bounty of good food.

There is no better, more enjoyable way to get to know your fellow congregants than by attending a Taste of Shabbat.

Check the calendar for the next scheduled Taste of Shabbat.
