Volunteering at Shomrei

Below are ongoing volunteer effort. Many more opportunities occur through out the year and will be listed at right.

Some of the things our volunteers do:

Carol Starr MESH Cafe
In partnership with MESH (Montclair Emergency Services for Hope), Shomrei volunteers feed the food-insecure on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Currently, we provide 50 meals. No culinary experience is necessary.  info & signup

Kiddush Prep
Volunteers gather on Friday afternoons to chop, mix, kibbutz and snack in a very social and fun culinary environment. No culinary experience is necessary.  info & signup

The Little Pantry
The premise of the Little Pantry is simple: Take what you need and donate what you can. This provides another way for Shomrei members to help people experiencing food insecurity. more info

The Mensch Squad
The Squad provides a network of support for members of our community who need a helping hand at stressful times. When someone in our community needs help, we're there for them. more info

Read Haftarah
Read a selection in Hebrew from the books of Nevi'im (Prophets) at our Shabbat Service on Saturday. info & signup
