Sponsor a Kiddush

We at Shomrei Emunah are very proud of the deliciousness and abundance of our Saturday kiddush meals. You can help us carry on that tradition, too!

Members may sponsor a kiddush in honor or memory of a friend or loved one, to celebrate a simcha, an anniversary, or a milestone, or for virtually any reason at all. (Bar and bat mitzvah celebrations involve special preparations and require coordination with our staff.)

All meals served at synagogue, of course, are strictly kosher.

For informal buffet meals, members of the synagogue typically prepare kiddush meals on Fridays, and new volunteers are eagerly invited to donate their time in this vital endeavor. Rest assured: nourishing one’s fellow congregants after a long morning of prayer pays dividends of boundless, heartfelt gratitude.

The following are the most frequently selected configurations for sponsored kiddush meals. Each includes hot and cold beverages. Prices assume up to 50 people. Please help us plan appropriately by alerting us if more guests are expected.

Nibbles: Fancy cookies, halvah, nuts and raisins, and fruit.
Spreads: Pita, hummus, baba ganoush, couscous, Israeli salad, avocado salad, grilled vegetables, and dessert.
Dairy: Challah rolls, bagels, cream cheese, nova scotia lox, tuna salad, egg salad, whitefish salad, miniature danish, and rugalach.
Deli: Platters of turkey, roast beef, corned beef and pastrami, served with cole slaw, potato salad, pickles, condiments and rye bread. Additional options include hot kugels, poached salmon, and other salads.

For more elaborate buffet meals or for formal table service, Shomrei Emunah is happy to work with a variety of caterers. All are welcome to use our kitchen facilities who can provide evidence of an acceptable form of kosher supervision.
