People of Shomrei

Out with the Old, In With the New

Full disclosure – I like to read print. I’m on my computer all day long at work reading emails, student papers, journal articles…and I like having books and newspapers in hardcopy.

But it’s time for me to say goodbye to the print version of our monthly newsletter Kol Emunah.

Why?

We save time, trees, and money by going digital.

ShomreiWeek will let us know what’s happening at Shomrei, link us to articles on shomrei.wpenginepowered.com, and link us to sign up sheets for events and for volunteering.

Congregants without online access will continue to receive a monthly printout by mail (of the snail variety) of the feature articles that have been posted on shomrei.wpenginepowered.com and in ShomreiWeek, compiled by Carney Mimms.

We’re doing one more mass mailing of the printout so you can see what it looks like. You can opt-in if you want to continue receiving the monthly printout by mail.  However, all articles will be available on ShomreiWeek and we’ll post a pdf version of the printout on ShomreiWeek as well. Going digital will save Shomrei thousands of dollars in printing and postage.

Postscript: My husband, Lou, is not one for going online. People still email me when they want to get in touch with him. But he now reads ShomreiWeek (dare I say religiously?) each week. We hope you will too.
