The snow did not discourage our guests nor our volunteers tonight! We served 20 and were a cast of 12 (including Merrill on piano).

The meal was hearty:

Appetizer of hummus and chips
Merrill’s minestrone soup and ciabatta rolls
Pasta with extra rich meat sauce made by me and Sam
Salad with broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes and I lost track of all the other veggies, compliments of Sharyn Mandell
Chocolate babka for dessert

Our volunteers were:image
Lucas, Caleb, Benjamin, Sam, Isabelle, Daisha, Dan Nachman (the founder of MESH at Shomrei) and his daughter Amalia, Sharyn Mandell and Fred Pressman of Ner Tamid.
Merrill played the background music on the piano and it set the tone perfectly for such a warm and enjoyable evening.

    Amy is a long-time Shomrei member. She is co-chair of Shomrei's MESH Cafe (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless). She can often be seen with her three sons Caleb, Benjamin, and Sam who are repeat volunteers with MESH.
