Report from Captain Stuart Green:

Shomrei hosted a full house of twenty appreciative guests on a bitterly cold night in Montclair. The group was appreciative, if somewhat subdued; the weather seems to be taking its toll on their spirits.

The MOD squad! No, MESH Squad!

The menu consisted of cabbage soup (made by Fern Heinig and rescued from deep freeze), green salad, vegetarian lasagna, and blueberry puff pastry (all prepared by STOM under the direction of John Lasiter).

Volunteers included Chase, Sarah, Justin, Stacey, Rachel, Julian, Ben, Caleb, Sam, Claudia, and Sierra Wendeborn.

    Stuart Green joined Shomrei in 2008 after moving here with his family from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is particularly devoted to Shomrei’s weekly soup kitchen, known as MESH. A professor at Rutgers University School of Law by day, he teaches and writes about criminal law and philosophy.
