Join the Simcha Band

simcha bandMUSICIANS AGES 10-110 needed to perform in the SIMCHA BAND at the COMMUNITY CHANUKA PARTY on Wednesday, December 17 at 5:30-7:30.  If you can read music or carry a tune, if you have a song in your heart and an instrument in your house, if you have previously played in the band or are joining for the first time, please help make our multi-generational band a big success. Conductor Mark Weinstein will encourage you to be the best musician you can be, while having fun.

Rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 10  in the evening (time TBA) and Sunday, Dec. 14 immediately after JLC dismissal (11:45). We will have a snack or light meal before the one-hour rehearsals. We encourage you to attend both rehearsals but if that is not possible, we appreciate any time you can give the band.

    Merrill Silver is a long-time member of Shomrei. She can often be seen at the piano as part of the Simcha Band, a cross-generational musical ensemble she organizes at Shomrei. She and her husband Andy host "Minyan @ Home" the Wednesday night Maariv service at their home. She has tutored many of Shomrei's B'nai Mitzvah kids in leading services and chanting Torah.
