People of Shomrei

Thank you!

kitchen_at_shomrei

We’ve just come off an intensive week in the kitchen: a Hinei Mah Tov service, a sponsored kiddush, a Lunch and Learn, a week of IHN, a movie and two Mesh Cafes. As the de facto kitchen point person, I’d like to thank everyone who helped in the kitchen or supported the help in the kitchen.

Some people came for an hour or so; others worked hours every week. But no matter how large or small the contribution to the kitchen work was, every minute helped and counted.

We must be a congregation that likes to cook. I won’t mention the many people individually who helped this past week – and many other weeks throughout the year. Our youngest helper was nine-years-old and our oldest was well up into double digits.

Keep up the good work. There will be many other opportunities to help. Please respond when the call comes.

We all like to eat; let’s all help out, too.

Aileen Grossberg, a professional librarian, is a long-time congregant and serves as volunteer librarian for Shomrei's Lampert Library. The library, one of the best-kept secrets at Shomrei is used by the Rabbi, congregants, students and teachers of the JLC (Hebrew School) and Preschool. It's a tremendous resource completely supported by your donations and gifts. Aileen also heads the Shomrei Caterers, the in-house food preparation group. Can there be any better combination…good food and good books!
