Tuesday Talmud at Oheb Shalom

Tuesday Talmud is a class run by a group that decided to study the Talmud some 22 years ago. It meets weekly on Tuesdays at Oheb Shaloam Synagogue in South Orange from 12:30 to 2 PM.

The system used is as follows: the class decides which tractate of the Talmud it will study. Then it begins the tractate and each week picks up where the study ended the week before. Sometimes, due to the discussion that arises, the class may cover as little as a few paragraphs. This continues until the tractate is completed, and a new one is begun. The class is taught by a group of some 13 local rabbis, including Rabbi David Greenstein of Congregation Shomrei Emunah, who teach in succession. The only charge for the class is the cost of the lunch that is served which is shared by the students.
