Feeding the needy at Shomrei, every Tuesday night

We welcomed 19 guests for dinner at Shomrei’s MESH Cafe this past Tuesday night.  The meal was prepared by John Lasiter, Sarah Kravits, Louis and Louis’ friend, Max. First up was Sarah’s hearty Pasta Fagiole, followed by green salad, mini challah rolls, John’s glazed roast salmon and crispy roasted potatoes. Dessert was chocolate chip cookies.  Our chefs prepared the same delicious meal for our IHN guests. Helpers were Adrienne Lassiter and Sam.  Sam pitched in as chief bottle washer, which was greatly appreciated.  Our guests were very appreciative and continue to give us complements for the hearty and delicious food we serve and the friendly and welcoming ambiance we provide.

    Lynne is a long-time Shomrei Congregant. She is co-chair of Shomrei's MESH Cafe (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) which provides a hot dinner and respite for homeless individuals every Tuesday night. She is a registered dietitian and lives in Montclair with her husband, Lanny.
