This week the fabulous team of Sara Steindel, Alex Kent & Susan Rosenblatt prepared 46 delicious meat meals of breaded chicken breast, mixed vegetables & roasted potatoes. Impossible meatballs with spaghetti sauce were prepared for 4 vegan meals along with the veggies & potatoes. Andy & Carol Blau were the co-captains/ head chefs. They shopped and were greeted by MESH recipients and staff who expressed their gratitude for the meals upon delivery!

MESH this week was prepared on Monday (to be delivered on Tuesday) by teens in PLATE – Providing Local Aid to End Hunger. This is a Montclair High School Club led by Shomrei teen Jordan. The enthusiastic teens who have been participating in Teen MESH inspired the creation of PLATE.
This past Tuesday three newly minted MESH team members joined Aileen Grossberg and Lynne Kurzweil to prepare a delicious comfort food meal for 50 MESH guests. (more…)

Flexibility is key!
This week in our ongoing effort to engage wider participation by accommodating congregants’ availability, we had a tag team on Monday and Tuesday. Monday afternoon Lynne Kurzweil, Shirley Grill and Linda Wieseneck did the cooking and stored it for warming and packing up on Tuesday.
