MESH Update
MESH volunteers will be happy to hear that Joe Tyson is back working at MESH at the Bloomfield Avenue site. Volunteers who drop off Shomrei’s prepared meals will undoubtedly be greeted by one of MESH’s Joes – Tyson or Granger.Though it’s been summer and we have not been preparing meals in the Shomrei kitchen, MESH has been the beneficiary of our excess food at kiddushes. The need for food has not decreased. MESH feeds upwards of 75 people 6 nights a week.
If you have usable leftovers from a celebration or just want to be generous, contact Shomrei’s MESH co-chair Aileen Grossberg () for details on how to make a delivery.
Regular meal prep for MESH begins in September. The signup sheet will be up shortly.
Please be generous with your time and help feed Montclair’s food insecure. Cooking with a group is fun and fulfilling. It’s a mitzvah!

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for Hope) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches.
Volunteer at Shomrei
Shomrei provides 50 meals to MESH on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from September through June. We need volunteers to help prepare and pack the food.

Volunteer at the MESH Site
Volunteers are also welcome to help serve food 6 nights a week, Monday through Saturday, 4:30-6:30 pm at the MESH site, 619 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair.
