Preschool Off to a Great Start!

Preschool 1st Day

The Preschool started the new school year with a bang! With the High Holidays so close to the start of the school year, there was much material to incorporate right away.

PreschoolThe halls were filled with children singing about dipping apples in honey, and I could smell the sweet scent or freshly baked apple pie! Many children enjoyed making their own sukkah, both large and small. My favorite was watching teachers and children collecting branches and leaves in our yard, to place atop their very own sukkah.

Our Preschool Back to School Night was packed with parents. We have nearly 20 new families in our school, and it is wonderful to see everyone making new connections to Shomrei. Many of our preschool families attended our High Holiday programs, and the rooms felt fuller than ever! On Sunday, we loved seeing many new families attending our sukkah building and decorating event. It’s a great feeling to know we are off to a great start.

    Heather feels right at home at Shomrei, having served as the Preschool Director since 2013. With a Masters Degree in Jewish Education, Heather has worked for over 10 years with everyone from toddlers to adults and most enjoys connecting with families and building relationships. Heather lives in West Orange with her husband Seth and their children Dov and Batya, where they can often be found hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
