MESH Report 4/16/2019

Report from Captain Shirley Grill:

It was a cool spring evening and spirits were high in keeping with the wonderful weather! John and Adrienne prepared a wonderful repast, consisting of :

A tuna salad and pita chips for the appetizer;

The main dish was perfectly baked barbecue chicken, great roasted potatoes and home made coleslaw which was yummy!

Desert, baked in house, was very chocolatey brownies, served warm with cool almond parve ice cream!

Excellent kitchen support and front room service was provided by our crew of teens, led by Amalia along with Haley, Orly and Juniper.

The Mesh staff of Adrienne and Bonny kept us on our game.

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches.  Volunteers at each institution cook and serve hearty, nutritious meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. A good meal, and perhaps as important, social interaction and companionship offer respite to those who need it. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering.
