Teen MESH, 3/24-3/25
We were a small but mighty crew for Teen MESH this week. Jordan, Eva, and Sena, with some help from Fern, made it happen on Monday evening.
First though, Amy Rabinowitz did the shopping and delivered the groceries to Shomrei Monday afternoon. This was a huge help.
The crew prepared Salmon burgers (home made), side of Tzatziki (also home made) with Mediterranean Cous Cous Salad as the main.
Packing 50 dinner bags with tangerines, cookies, protein bar, and water bottle was the next order of business. All the cooking and packing was accomplished in under two hours.
Janice Berman and Fern met on Tuesday afternoon to heat and bun the burgers and pack the dinner trays into the bags. Lynne Kurzweil delivered to the Office
A special shout out to Barbara Gollob who is volunteering at the Office to serve the guests.

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for Hope) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches.

Shomrei provides 50 meals to MESH on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. We need volunteers to help prepare and pack the food.
For those interested in volunteering who are not available on Tuesday afternoons, we are brainstorming different ways to make it work. Let us know what would work for you.
Additionally, each Monday afternoon we deliver any usable food leftover from kiddish to MESH.

Volunteers are also welcome to help serve food 6 nights a week, Monday through Saturday, 4:30-6:30 pm at the MESH site, 619 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair.
