Congregants Fern Heinig and Dale Russakoff are active participants in Social Action at Shomrei. Fern Heinig is a frequent volunteer cooking for Shomrei’s MESH Cafe and spearheaded Shomrei’s first annual Mitzvah Day last year in 2024. This week was the final Teen MESH for the school year.
Thank you Jordan, for not only leading Teen MESH but taking it to the next level by creating PLATE (Providing Local Aid to End Hunger), an official Montclair High School club. Jordan and PLATE never missed a month of dedicating their time to cook and pack meals for 50 guests. (more…)
Shomrei Emunah had our first Mitzvah Day. Members, of all ages, participated together, in a truly multi-generational day. The adults were fueled by mimosas and the kids by pure enthusiasm. (more…)
We were a small but mighty crew for Teen MESH this week. Jordan, Eva, and Sena, with some help from Fern, made it happen on Monday evening.
This week, the enthusiastic teens met late Monday afternoon to cook for MESH (to be delivered Tuesday to The Office). Captain Jordan, with Vicky, Caitlin, Olivia, Audrey and Sofia from Montclair High, joined Chef Fern to cook a hearty meal for fifty guests.
