Klinger Korner – Farewell and Gratitude

As I write my final Klinger Korner, I am filled with gratitude and a sense of pride. My time at Shomrei has been a journey of growth, partnership, and deep connection, and I am honored to have been part of this incredible community.

Together, we have accomplished so much. We navigated the complex and rewarding process of a rabbinic search, working to ensure a strong spiritual future for Shomrei. We faced the challenge of emerging from the isolation of the COVID pandemic, returning thoughtfully and safely to in-person services, rebuilding the rhythms of communal prayer, learning, and gathering. We strengthened our synagogue’s security during a time of rising antisemitism, ensuring that Shomrei remains a place of safety, sanctuary, and resilience for all who walk through its doors.

Beyond these milestones, I have had the privilege of building friendships, collaborating with inspiring lay leaders and clergy, and learning invaluable lessons in leadership, community, and compassion. Shomrei has been more than a workplace — it has been a place where I grew as a professional and as a person.

During my time here, I also completed my master’s degree in Nonprofit Management — a step that was deeply informed and inspired by my experiences at Shomrei. I now look forward to taking the skills, knowledge, and spirit nurtured here into the next chapter of my career.

I am profoundly grateful to everyone who made this journey so meaningful — the staff, the Board, the volunteers, and every member of this extraordinary community. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your partnership.

I will always be proud to say that I was part of Shomrei Emunah. This is not goodbye — it is simply “l’hitraot” (until we meet again). Shomrei will forever hold a special place in my heart.

With deep appreciation and warmest wishes,
