MESH1 2015 dec 15Report From Captain Lynne Kurzweil: 

Last night we welcomed 19 guests to Shomrei’s MESH Cafe.  Three more takeaway meals were given out.  Our guests seemed somewhat subdued tonight, perhaps as the holiday season and the cold weather approaches.  As usual, all guests enjoyed the meal and graciously expressed their thanks. 

MESH2 2015 dec 15Aileen Grossberg was chef, whipping up a delicious and homey spread including Pita Chips with Guacamole or Hummus, Salad, Buttered Bread, Roasted Cod with Mango Thai Marinade, Green beans with Mushrooms and Pimento, Roasted Brown Sugar Carrots.  For dessert, each guest was served a sliced fresh orange and a large bakery cookie.  Aileen also provided a takeaway bag with a Banana, a Granola bar and a Fig bar.

MESH3 2015 dec 15Helpers tonight were teen helper Amalia, Bernardo Breziner, interns Bonny and Thalia and MESH staffer, Adrienne.  Thank you, one and all, for another successful evening at the MESH Cafe at Shomrei.

    Lynne is a long-time Shomrei Congregant. She is co-chair of Shomrei's MESH Cafe (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) which provides a hot dinner and respite for homeless individuals every Tuesday night. She is a registered dietitian and lives in Montclair with her husband, Lanny.
