Bruce Baff, a long-time marketing and advertising executive and travel writer for Jewish publications, passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 86. Bruce was the beloved husband of Natalie Goulston Baff, to whom he was married for 53 years, a loving father to his daughter Arlene Yoskowitz and his son, Adam Baff and his wife, Maia, and the adored grandfather of grandchildren Sivan, Eden, Golan, Eli and Owen. Bruce and I attended the “ We Stand With Israel “ talk Sunday, 9/29 at Temple Shalom in Cedar Grove. Adele Raemer, a resident of Kibbutz Nirim, one mile from Gaza, told us how life at Kibbutz Nirim was 95 percent heaven until October 7th, 2023. (more…)
With approximately forty-five other Shomrei members, Bruce and I attended the Musical Taste of Shabbat hosted by Ken Bannerman and Judy Wildman last Friday evening at their beautiful home.
The Service was glorious and memorable. Judy led the service, while Ken played the bass and Merrill Silver played the piano. We all sang the wonderful Kabbalat Shabbat songs, led by Judy, including Mizmor Shir, Lechu Neranina, etc. The music was so very wonderful! (more…)
In Honor of the 75th Anniversary of Israel, I wrote this article remembering my first trip to Israel.
My first trip to Israel was a 10 day Daphna Tour, December 1967, the first Chanukah after the Six Day War.
I remember seeing the whole country of Israel from the air and being moved with tears of joy. I felt deeply connected to Israel. (more…)
