MESH Report Jan 18, 2022

Chef Lynne Kurzweil prepared a hearty meal in her home kitchen with contributions from a few enthusiastic helpers.  Main course was Panko Crusted Tilapia served with Corn on the Cob and Kale and Cabbage Salad with Pepitas and Craisins.  Hailey baked her delicious chocolate chip cookies and provided dinner rolls as well.

Special thanks to Fiona Graff for making the Costco run and also for assisting Jack and Micah with their contribution of bananas, clementines and granola bars.

There are many available slots in the weeks and months ahead on the MESH Volunteer SignUp Sheet for you to contribute one component to the meal if preparing the entire meal seems daunting.  Make a salad or a vegetable, fruit salad  or dessert. Buy bread/rolls whole fruit, or a snack. We provide 20 meals and we have all the to-go packing materials at Shomrei.

You can access the SignUp at:  shomrei.org/mesh

About MESH:

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches. While in-person service has been discontinued, we are providing hearty, nutritious take-out meals for the hungry. Shomrei’s turn is on Tuesday nights. Please help fulfill this crucial mitzvah by volunteering to help with food preparation or bagging or by making a donation at: shomrei.org/donate.
