From Captain Shirley Grill:
On an overcast evening, Shomrei served a scrumptious and elegant meal to our guests! Prepared by Chef Lynne Kurzweil, the menu consisted of:
Appetizer: Crudités with Mango Salsa (exotic and delicious)
Main Course: Roasted Chicken (lovely spices), sautéed vegetables, pasta salad (contributed by Aileen) and roasted corn.
Desert: fruit salad (again from Aileen) and black and white cookies. And desert was topped off by a French chocolate Truffle.
The guests heaped praise on our chef for the delicious food and the elegant presentation!
Our adult volunteers were: Rafael, from a neighboring church and Leonard, our visiting student from Yale.
Our teens were: Josie and Khari from MHS.
And of course the MESH staff: Adrienne and Joe
We had a small crowd of 13 guests–low quantity of guests; high quality of food!
