People of Shomrei

I Surrender

I’d like to address a nasty rumor: that I’m plotting to replace the dead-tree version of our synagogue newsletter with this new-fangled site.

That rumor—well, okay. It’s true. Heck, I even rubbed my hands together and cackled with glee as I made my plans. But then I discovered that the forces in favor of continuing the paper version of KE (despite all those poor, dead trees) are so strong that I have no hope of overcoming them. So fear not! I’m surrendering without a fight.

You will still receive your paper copy of Kol Emunah. The PDF version will still be available from our main website. Nonetheless, we need a spot where people can comment on the articles, continue the discussions from Torah Study, nick an extra kosher recipe or two and do what Shomrei does best: foster a sense of community.

We’ll continue to release the dead-tree version of Kol Emunah on the first of each month, but we’ll add content to this new-fangled site more often. Check back with us at least once a week to see what’s new. I hope you’ll be glad you did . . . and I hope, someday, you’ll consider turning in that paper copy for the shiny version you can read on your tablet.
