Home Sweet Home: Back at Shomrei

I am happy and excited to let you know the abatement has been completed and we received our Certificate of Occupancy. This means we can enter the building and have access to the second floor which includes the Sanctuary, Social Hall, and Gallery. On the first floor, the office will be open once agin for business.

I am sorry to report the Pre School will need to remain at BK until the repairs to the school area are completed. Currently the classrooms have no flooring as well as dry wall and painting also need to be completed. Until all work is completed and workmen are not on the premises, it would be unsafe for our children to move the preschool back to Shomrei. Our contractor is working on timelines for the completion of work and I hope to have by Monday. He plans to begin putting up the dry wall and prepping for painting in the next couple of days.

Friday night services will be in the Shomrei sanctuary as will be Shabbat services on Saturday. We will have a special @Nourish featuring Dale Russakoff discussing her new book about the DACA children. I believe three DACA kids will be there telling their personal stories. We also have a special kiddush lunch being prepared by our Syrian Refugee families. Please join us for this special Shabbat homecoming.

All events scheduled will now be back at Shomrei beginning with this Sunday’s Purim Carnival in the Social Hall beginning at 11:00am.

We have lots going on in the next two weeks. Please read ShomreiWeek for the schedule of events.

This has been a trying time for all. I thank you for your patience. I apologize to PreSchool parents that we are not quite complete just yet. It has only been a month since the water pipe burst, but for me, it feels like it has been a year. Just a little longer.
