MESH Report for November 11, 2025

Due to a scheduling conflict, this week’s Team cooked and partially packed on Sunday, then reheated and finished packing up on Tuesday afternoon.

Chef Lynne, ably assisted by Linda Wieseneck, Joan Zief and Lanny Kurzweil, prepared BBQ Chicken, Roasted Potatoes and Roasted Mixed Vegetables.  The team assembled the meal bags with an apple, chocolate-dipped biscotti, roll, ketchup cup, water bottle and cutlery pack.

On Tuesday afternoon, Julie Weinstein and Leslie Bittel reheated the chicken, potatoes and veggies and portioned the main course into containers. They made up 4 Vegan meals with a Beyond Burger on a bun and everything else the same, with Oreos swapped out for the biscotti.

Lynne came back to deliver the meals to MESH.

Many thanks to our very special MESH volunteers who always rise to the occasion and always work with a smile 😊

Notes from Lynne & Aileen

About MESH

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for Hope) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches.

Volunteer at Shomrei
Shomrei provides 50 meals to MESH on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. We need volunteers to help prepare and pack the food. For those interested in volunteering who are not available on Tuesday afternoons, we are brainstorming different ways to make it work.  Let us know what would work for you.
