MESH Report for December 9, 2025

The weather outside was frightful (brrrr) but inside the Shomrei kitchen it was warm as toast as a small but mighty group of MESH volunteers labored with love to prepare a hearty feast for our neighbors at MESH.

Lynne Kurzweil, with the able assistance of Linda Wieseneck, Joan Zief, Lyn Rosensweig and Sam Selesnick, chopped, seasoned, tossed, slathered, tossed, roasted, portioned, counted, recounted and packed up 50 meals.  Barbecue Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Mixed Veggies, a roll, a banana, chocolate dipped biscotti, and a water bottle.

Four of the meals were vegan, swapping out the chicken for a Beyond Burger and Oreos for the biscotti.   Lynne and Linda delivered the meals to The Office where we are always welcomed with gleeful anticipation of a delicious meal.

Come help us in 2026.  You’ll be glad you did!

About MESH

The Carol Starr MESH Cafe at Shomrei (Montclair Emergency Services for Hope) is a cooperative effort between the MESH organization and local synagogues and churches.

Volunteer at Shomrei
Shomrei provides 50 meals to MESH on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. We need volunteers to help prepare and pack the food. For those interested in volunteering who are not available on Tuesday afternoons, we are brainstorming different ways to make it work.  Let us know what would work for you.
